PETER SHAW

Chief Executive Officer

Peter J. Shaw is chief executive officer of Akonix Systems, Inc. Since joining Akonix as Chairman of the Board in 2001 and CEO in 2002, Mr. Shaw has helped pioneer the market for the secure, managed use of real-time, presence-based messaging within corporations, and has led the company to become the premier provider of enterprise-class products for ensuring security and compliance for employee use of instant messaging.

Mr. Shaw has extensive worldwide experience in general management, business development, marketing and sales as well as mergers and acquisitions. He is an experienced senior executive who has successfully launched and grown multiple technology-based companies across a wide range of technical markets. Prior to joining Akonix, Mr. Shaw co-founded and served as CEO of Megatek, a pioneer in advanced, real-time computer graphics systems; AGE Logic, an early provider of advanced GUI platforms and connectivity applications and later served as CEO of Sitematic, a hosted provider of web based applications.

Mr Shaw has held senior management positions at United Telecom (now Sprint NYSE: S) and NetManage (Nasdaq:NETM). Mr. Shaw has also worked with and advised leading venture capital firms on the restructuring of numerous portfolio companies.

Mr. Shaw is a member of the board of directors for Santrio, a Web-based order management software company, and also serves on the board of directors of the San Diego Venture Group (SDVG). Previously he served as a Venture Partner for San Diego-based Windward Ventures and as a senior advisor for Venture Catalyst (OTC BB:VCAT.OB).

Mr. Shaw holds a bachelor of engineering degree in electrical engineering from City College of New York and a master of business administration degree from the University of Connecticut.

CHUCK KIMMEL

Chief Financial Officer

Charles Kimmel is a seasoned financial executive who has served in the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) role at both public and private companies for over 15 years.

Prior to joining Akonix, Mr. Kimmel served as CFO of NowDocs, an early-stage Internet company, where he successfully raised over $40 million in debt and equity financing. Mr. Kimmel also served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Tivoli Industries, a manufacturing company, and as Director of Worldwide Operations at NetManage (NASDAQ: NETM).

Mr. Kimmel holds a BS in Economics from Western Michigan University.

MARTY WEXLER

VP Engineering

Marty Wexler is Vice President of Engineering at Akonix. With over 20 years of experience, Marty's previous employers included Streamload, EMC, Level 3 Communications, Lockheed-Martin, and Loral. An accomplished innovator and leader in technology, Marty is the author of six patents or patents pending in the fields of storage systems and configuration and data center management and configuration.

Marty completed both graduate and undergraduate education at San Diego State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science.

DON MONTGOMERY

VP Marketing

Don Montgomery is a seasoned marketing and sales executive with more than 20 years experience and over 35 launches of new products, services, and lines of business.

Prior to joining Akonix, Don served as Director of Marketing at Unisys Corp., where he launched Unisys Business Intelligence and established Unisys as an industry leader in large-scale analytics and data warehousing platforms.

Earlier in his career, Don held senior marketing, sales and operations management positions at United Messaging, Inc., Bell Atlantic Network Integration, Bell Atlantic Business Systems Services, Inc., and Digital Equipment Corporation.

As a thought leader in the information technology industry, Don has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, CNN Money, Information Week, and all leading I.T. publications. He has been a frequent speaker at industry and company conferences and symposia, including the Gartner Business Intelligence Conference, the Bell Atlantic Executive Conference, Digital's Global Telecommunications Symposium, and many other events and briefings.

Don holds a B.S. degree in Management Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, with graduate and undergraduate studies at the Lesley College School of Management and the College of the Holy Cross.

KIP QUACKENBUSH

VP Worldwide Sales

Kip Quackenbush is an experienced sales leader and executive bringing over 20 years of enterprise software and high technology sales leadership to the Akonix team.

Most recently, Mr. Quackenbush served as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Commerce One, a provider of enterprise process automation and e-business software and services. During almost 4 years at Commerce One he has been responsible for building strategic account revenue from $8 to $55 million, developing a $35 million Asia Pacific operation and recently launching a brand new product line to $6 million in revenues 12 months after launch.

Prior to Commerce One, Mr. Quackenbush held senior sales and management roles at Excalibur Technologies, a knowledge retrieval organization, at Oracle Corporation and at Digital Equipment Corporation.

Mr. Quackenbush holds a BA in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
